India v
Pakistan review
India missed out on the opportunity to climb to second spot in the LG
ICC Test Championship by losing the final match of its three Test
match series against Pakistan to draw the series 1-1.
The series draw
means that India remains third in the official LG ICC table behind
Australia and England while Pakistan stays fifth. As a result India’s
rating has fallen by one point from 108 before the series to 107,
while Pakistan’s rating has risen by one point from 101 to 102.
Younis
Khan has entered the LG ICC Test Batting Rankings top ten for the
first time after his 351 runs in two innings helped Pakistan to
victory in Bangalore. Khan is now ninth in the LG ICC rankings, with
Inzamam-ul-Haq one place ahead of him.
The climb of these two batsmen means that Sachin
Tendulkar drops out of the top ten, as he
did in 2004.
Meanwhile,
Rahul Dravid
has slipped back to second in the LG ICC Test Batting Rankings after
two low scores in the final Test. Dravid
will, however, reclaim top place if Jacques
Kallis does not have a good series with the bat in the West
Indies
