UAE to take on Nepal in
Intercontinental Cup 2004
The ICC cricket committee in their recent
meeting has approved and granted First –
Class Cricket status to all matches in the
new 3 day tournament for the Associate Member countries for
the ICC Intercontinental Cup to be played across the world.
The UAE will play their first ever three day game against
Nepal in the opening match from 25th till 27th
March at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium. ICC Global Development
Manager, Matthew Kennedy and the High Performance Manager,
Bob Woolmer will closely monitor the performances of all the
teams.
From the Asia zone, Nepal,
Malaysia and UAE will be play each other and the winner of the
group will play the semi finals and finals.
The qualifiers will
be from Americas, Europe and Africa. The ICC conducted semi
finals and the finals
are slated to be held in the UAE
from 16th November 2004.
