Emirates Cricket Board has today announced the team that will represent the UAE in the first of three T20I games against Afghanistan.
The first game in the three-game series commences Wednesday, December 14th (13:00) and will be played at the ICC Academy grounds. Subsequent games will be played Friday December 16th (14:00), at Dubai International Stadium (Dubai Sports City), and Sunday December 18th (13:00) at the ICC Academy grounds.
Waleed Bukhatir, Emirates Cricket Board Member and Chief Selector said; “We are very pleased to welcome Afghanistan to Dubai for this series, and we are looking forward to seeing a good crowd of supporters for both sides turn up, especially for Friday’s game played at Dubai Sports City’s Stadium.” “Our UAE players have been extremely committed to their intensive training schedule, and to their performance during recent matches. Their dedication and work continues to show encouraging, good results against the KPI’s set by our performance team.”
“Afghanistan are a quality side, and more than capable of posting very competitive totals. We expect this series will be a very good test, and challenge, and are confident the UAE will produce the winning results.” Bukhatir added.
