Sharjah Cricket Academy (SCA) Ladies were a class apart as they convincingly secured a seven-wicket victory over ICC Academy Ladies to clinch the Emirates Cricket Board national ladies tournament at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium.
Put in to bat first, ICC Academy Ladies opener Chaya Mughal was the star performer with the bat as she remained unbeaten scoring an impressive 40 of 48 deliveries consisting of four boundaries.
She held her innings firm as wickets fell on the other side with only two other batswomen - Roopa Nagraj (12, 25b) and Nisha Ali (10, 9b, 2x4) – coming good with the bat to ensure ICC Academy Ladies finished with a fine 92 for eight in 20 overs.
For SCA Ladies, Kavisha Kumari bowled a great spell picking up three important wickets in her four overs conceding only 15 runs.
Samiya Salim, Subha Srinivasan and Humaira Tasneem picked a wicket each.
Chasing a challenging target, SCA Ladies lost two quick wickets but Natasha Michael (22, 39b) and Subha Srinivasan (29 not out, 30b, 1x4) put on an impressive partnership for 30 runs before Srinivasan added a quick unbroken 40 runs for the next wicket with Dipanki Borcar (10 not out) to ensure SCA Ladies romped home to victory in 18 overs.
