Abu Dhabi Gymkhana lift CONMIX CUP

Abu Dhabi Gymkhana defeated ECB Blues by eight wickets in the final over of the match to win the first Al Dhaid Ramadan floodlit tournament, organised by the Sharjah Cricket Council, for the ConmixT-20 Cup at Al Dhaid Cricket Village.     It was experienced Saqib Ali, who turned in a superb all-round performance to clinch the final for his side. The all-rounder first snared three wickets for 20 runs and then smashed a crucial 29 off 20 balls with five fours as Abu Dhabi Gymkhana overhauled ECB Blues’ total of 121 for seven in the last over of the match.     ECB Blues, batting first, had built their innings Amjad Ali (28 off 14 balls), Waqas Khan (22 off 19 balls) and Abdul Rehman who cracked 19 off just nine balls with two sixes.     Saqib Ali (three for 20) & Arfan Haider (three for 15) bowled brilliantly to prevent ECB Blues from running away with th initiative. Asim Khurshid also took one wickets for eight runs.     Abu Dhabi Gymkhana, in reply, needed some useful contributions from Haroon Iftikhar (34 off 25 balls), Sakib Shah (29 off 20 balls), Saqib Ali (29 0ff 20 balls ) and Arfan Haider (23 off 15 balls) to see off a determined challenge from ECB Blues.     Saqib Ali was named man of the final while Sakib Shah, also of Abu Dhabi Gymkhana was adjudged Best Batsman.
